The Gulbarga districts is located in the northern part of
Karnataka presently Gulbarga is a Divisional head Quarter
comprising six districts namely Gulbarga, Bidar, Bellary,
Raichur, Koppal and Yadgir. It is having a great historical and
cultural background. In such a area the renewed
“Sharanabasveshwar Vidya Vardhak Sangh Gulbarga” a prime
Institution of Karnataka state catering the education needs of
the people was established in 1918 by poojya shree Doddappa Appa
the Maha Dasoha peethadhipatigalu of Sharnabasveshwar samsthan.
Over a
period of eight and half decades it has developed in to a
biggest educationl organization providing quality education.
This academic Institution is now made available montessori to
P.G level in many disciplines.
Now his
holiness Poojya Dr. Sharnabasavappa Appa the president of the
Sharnbasaveshwar Education Institutions, himself as a Great
Educationist, Philosopher’ great poet, Social Reformer, Akhil
Bharat Veerashaiva Mahadasoha peethadhipatigalu and above all a
great humanist has Developed 50 Educational Institutions
Providing Education to 23000 Students which includes 14000 boys
and 9000 girls. This esteemed sangha has Celebrated its Cenetery
year Inaugrated on 23rd September 2004 by his Excellency APJ
Abdul Kalam Hon’ble president of india.

Institution, a LIBRARY called LIBRARY AND INFORMATION
CENTRE[LIC] is one of the most sought and learning centres
on the campus ,where rich collections of books, journals,
OPAC Database and others infrastructure are available. The
library is originated from the date of establishment of the
college and ideally situated on the college campus. The
building is built logically and scientifically the
ventilation lighting and other onterior facilities are made
available. The ‘S’ type cushion are provided for the
students to sit for the longer time in the library. The
Speciality of our library is entire library is fully air
conditioned installing heavy duty AC machines. THE LIBRARY
WORKS ROUND THE CLOCK with OPEN ACCESS SYSTEM. It is the
only one library in Karnataka where these types of
facilities have been extended.
OUR library is as a heart of the academic institution and
plays an important role in all the academic and research
activities works with various effective services considering
the aims and objectives of the esteemed institution.
Information. Technologies are adopted to meet the challenges
and informative education for modern society which will be a
reason for nation building.
Library works with such huge
collection of Book, National/International scientific
Journals, Magzines, and Newspapers. A Separate CD-ROM
collection, and Book Bank Collection, are maintained. A
special arrangement of providing Text Books to the ‘TOPPERS’
is made available to encourage for the meritorious students
and to gain ranks and placement. Avery good collection of
Text Book Section foe all the branches maintained. Internet
facility round the clock is also made Available for the
Students to brows the academic sites and full text of e-
journal accessing A separate Reprography section is
maintained for the students and the facility
members.
As a Special Collection an
International Reference Work Mc Graw-Hill Encyclopedia Of
Science and Technology in 20 Vol’s Published from USA, Worth
of Rs.2.5 lakhs is procured and made available in the
library. Our library has joined by making payment of Rs11000
and became a member of DELNET- AICTE for the subscription to
e- journals, and databases to access.
The IEEE/EEE Electronic
Library (IEL) Covers almost one third of the world’s current
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Literature. The
resource covers more than 50,000 documents from over 2,000
publication including 120 Journals, Magazines, Conference
proceedings. More than 5,000 new pages are going to be added
every month. It provides access to Diagrams,Photographs and
illustrative Materials. This Facility is a Comnmon to our
all three Braches and a boost to our teaching and learning
process.
